Detailed boundaries are to include an average of not more than 320 acres of land per mile, measured from the ordinary high water mark on both sides.
Fee-title limit
Acquisition of fee title is limited to an average of not more than 100 acres per mile on both sides of the river.
State-owned lands
State-owned lands may be acquired only by donation or exchange under the terms stated in §1277.
Consent protection
Indian-tribe or political-subdivision lands are subject to the consent protection stated in the provision.
Exchange
The appropriate Secretary may accept title to non-Federal property within authorized boundaries and conduct qualifying exchanges.
Cooperation
Written cooperative agreements may provide for State or local participation without altering the congressional classification.
